What happens when you get in touch with LikeMinds?
During an initial phone call, you may if you wish, provide some background as to why you are considering undertaking therapy. We can discuss whether you might be best suited to individual, group or family sessions or perhaps a combination. We can let you know a little about how we work and if you feel that this sounds right for you, an initial consultation will be booked at a convenient time for you. There is no charge for this initial phone conversation, which will normally last approximately 15 minutes. The fee for the initial consultation will be agreed with you at this point.
How can you meet with us?
We undertake the initial conversation by phone or in person in our therapy room at Cavendish Square.
What to expect at an initial consultation
The initial consultation will generally last between an hour and an hour and a half.
This is an opportunity for you to get to know us in more depth. We will tell you about the different services we offer. We can explain how the process of therapy works if you are thinking of trying it for the first time.
We can answer any questions you may have about our work and about us as clinicians and the type of work we undertake. We can explain why people chose to undertake therapy and how it can help them.
We will listen to you to find out what brings you to think about having treatment, the concerns that you might have and whether you feel ready to consider starting in therapy. Sometimes, there may be more than one consultation session while you decide whether you feel comfortable with your clinician and to help you think about what you hope to gain from undertaking treatment and what your goals might be. If and when you decide therapy is for you, we will agree a treatment plan with you.
Your clinician will also discuss frequency of appointments, fees, whether you can work in person or remotely or perhaps a combination of the two if that better suits your circumstances.
